Reverse Osmosis Systems (RO) are the best water filters in the market. They produce highest quality of pure water. Therefore, these filters are considered one of the best solutions for water purification.

All RO systems remove firstly all sediment. Moreover, they remove odours and chlorine from feed water. They have a prefilter before it forces water through a semipermeable membrane to remove dissolved solids. After water exits the RO membrane, it passes through a postfilter. Therefore it is polished before it goes to the point of use.

Usually, these systems have 4 or 5 stages of filters. We call them prefilters and postfilters. Many times they are equipped with UV systems too (Ultraviolet lamps) . These UV are used for water sterilization. It is an extra safety device that secures the production of healthy drinking water

To understand better what these systems are, this is a brief description. Reverse osmosis removes contaminants from feed water. This happens when pressure (usually by a pump) forces on the semipermeable membrane. As a result, filtered water flows from the more concentrated to the less concentrated side. Thus, it provides clean healthy drinking water. We call this clean water, as the permeate water. The water left over on the other side of the membrane is the wastewater. Usually is rejected in the drain.
